Loyalty point
The unit of account of the programme. A point has no monetary value in itself - only the conversion on redemption turns it into an amount. What the unit is called in your shop is up to you; "loyalty points" is only the default.
A loyalty programme brings a language of its own. This page explains the words that always mean the same thing in the administration, in the shop and in this manual - briefly and without prerequisites.

The state of a booking that exists but does not yet count towards the redeemable balance. Points from an order are pending first.
The state of a booking that is valid and redeemable. Pending turns into booked once the order has reached the configured state and the minimum age has passed.
The process that turns pending points into booked ones. It runs hourly as a scheduled task and can also be triggered by hand from the dashboard.
A package of points credited at the same time with an expiry date of its own. Validity counts per lot from the booking day; redemption always draws from the oldest lot first.
A single movement in the programme - earned, redeemed or corrected. Every booking carries date, customer, type, status, points, an order where there is one, and a reason in plain text.
The complete list of all bookings. A customer's balance is never stored but always recalculated from this list - which is why every figure in the programme can be derived.
A booking that reverses an earlier one in whole or in part - after a cancellation, for instance. The original booking stays; nothing is deleted.
How many points one euro of turnover brings. One, out of the box. Together with the conversion it gives the percentage the programme costs. In the configuration the setting is called "Points earned per 1.00 spent".
How many points make one euro of discount. 100, out of the box. It defines the monetary value of a point. In the configuration the setting is called "Points per 1.00 discount".
A rule limited in time or scope that gives more points - for certain products, a period or a condition from the rule builder. It acts on the order, not on the customer.
A factor by which the points of an order are multiplied. It comes from the customer's loyalty tier or from a booster.
A fixed number of points added to an order regardless of its amount. The counterpart to a multiplier.
A lasting classification of a customer based on their point balance and their number of completed orders. Every tier carries a multiplier on everything the customer earns from then on.
The time a customer keeps their loyalty tier after their balance has fallen below the threshold. If the balance recovers within it, the tier stays.
A milestone that triggers a bonus when a point threshold is crossed. A goal can be one-off or repeatable.
A product from your catalogue with a price in points. When it is redeemed, the product lands as a line item in the cart.
A credit that hangs on an event rather than an order: registration, newsletter confirmation or a birthday. Such points are valid immediately.
All valid points nobody has redeemed yet. Multiplied by the point value they give the open liability of your programme - the figure for a provision.
The share of issued points that has already been redeemed. It shows how much of the liability actually turns into cost.
